Online Course Review: STAGE Academy by Vinh Giang (2023)

I started following Vinh Giang in 2022 after my friend sent me one of his posts on social media.

Fast forward to 2023, I bought Vinh’s STAGE Academy online course to supercharge my communication skills.

I have 19,000 followers on Instagram and wanted to expand my presence there and elsewhere.

In addition, part of my calling in life is to be an inspirational/motivational speaker one day.

How I Delivered a Killer Best Man Speech That Had The Audience Crying and Laughing at the Same Time

Public speaking was always a big fear and anxiety-inducing experience for me, going all the way back to high school.

However, just a few short months after starting Vinh’s course, I delivered the best man speech at my best friend of 25 years’ wedding to 150 people.

And I crushed it.

Half the crowd was crying and laughing at the same time, even a person I’d just met.

After the speech, my parents and friends came up to me, congratulated me, and told me how amazing the speech was.

My friend’s mom, who is like a second mother to me, was so grateful and appreciative of the speech I gave, because I took the opportunity to honor what the last 25 years had meant for all of us.

But it was dead silent during my speech. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, hanging on every word.

I was even confident and comfortable enough to improvise a few times and joke around with my friend and the crowd without messing up my flow.

“Mike, I think you’ve solidified your reputation as a public speaker.”

All in all, delivering that speech has been one of the proudest moments of my life so far.

And I did it without even finishing STAGE Academy all the way. That’s how powerful and easy to apply the information was for me.

My Public Speaking Experience Before Taking the STAGE Academy Course

Before taking STAGE Academy, I wasn’t a total beginner when it comes to public speaking or being in the public eye.

I did a public speaking event when I was living in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2018.

I’ve also been interviewed on podcasts, and I started my own podcast in 2022.

However…

I was dead nervous before every single event.

When I say nervous, I mean nervous for weeks sometimes before the event.

I kept in mind some of the vocal tips Vinh teaches at the beginning of the course, and I practiced my speech by recording it on my phone multiple times, listening to my voice, and making adjustments, as Vinh teaches.

I wasn’t able to fully shake off my nerves, especially as the time to do my speech got closer.

But I was prepared, I was ready for it, and I knew I’d probably do a good job.

I felt way better beforehand compared to my other speaking experiences.

I delivered my best performance to the largest crowd I’ve spoken in front of so far.

And I did it at one of the most important events I’ll probably ever do.

With that success under my belt, I’m more confident than ever when it comes to public speaking and communicating in the public eye.

And I’ll only get better from here, until I’m ready to take the world by storm and light up stages worldwide.

Module 5 – Body Language

Finally, in Module 5, Vinh teaches you how to master your body language and achieve leadership presence.

The videos themselves are some of the highest quality I’ve ever seen in an online course. They’re professionally recorded and edited with Vinh’s humorous personality spread throughout.

The videos are actually funny and entertaining, which is refreshing for a personal development course.

You’re not just sitting there consuming dry information. You’re being entertained while you learn, which I believe improves information retention.

This also means you’re more likely to go through more of the material.

The course itself is hosted on Kajabi, one of the best online course platforms, so the course is super easy to navigate through all of the modules and lessons.

It’s also mobile-device friendly, so you can learn on-the-go.

You can also leave comments on the videos and Vinh or a team member will respond to you.

Overall, I’ve found the quality of the content and the course platform itself to be top-notch.

Overall, I’ve found the STAGE Academy course to be easy to use and navigate.

The information covered is incredibly high quality and easy to apply to my life.

However, the course is a bit on the pricier side.

But if you have a strong desire to master your communication skills and access some of the best information out there, and you’re willing to invest in that information and in yourself, I think there’s no better option than Vinh’s course.

What I Would Improve

The only suggestion I’d make is offering a community aspect where students can share their progress/wins with one another and ask questions. Something like a community within Kajabi or even just a Facebook group.

This would add a more interactive aspect to the course, it would add more value to each student, and I believe it would help keep students inspired and motivated to go through the lessons as they see their peers’ success learning the same information.
